A catch-all functionality that is activated for a given email mailbox will permit you to receive emails that are sent to addresses that do not really exist. In other words, if you disable an email address and somebody still sends a message to it, or to any mistyped address under the same domain, you’ll receive the email in the catch-all mailbox. Using this feature means that you will no longer miss an email for any reason, which could be crucial if you are running a business, for example. Since you may start receiving spam email messages, you can use the catch-all functionality with anti-spam filters so as to receive only legitimate emails in your inbox. Just one single mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for a catch-all mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Hosting

In case you’ve got a Linux hosting with us and you would like to enable the catch-all option for a particular email mailbox that you’ve got in your hosting account, it will take literally just one single mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available on the right-hand side of each email address that you have created under any domain registered in the account. You can pick one email address per domain name by clicking on the corresponding button. This will activate the feature instantaneously, so all emails sent to mistyped addresses will be delivered there. Clicking the button for a second time will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got activated email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary message and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature until you remove the forwarding or you can simply choose some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.
